Letter Writing is an important part of the Class 11th and 12th English syllabus for the MP Board. It is included in the writing section of the exam and carries good marks. Students are required to write formal or informal letters depending on the question.

🔵 Types of Letters for MP Board Class 11th & 12th

1. Formal Letters

These are written for official purposes, such as:

  • Application for leave
  • Complaint letters
  • Letter to the editor
  • Letters to school/college authorities

2. Informal Letters

These are personal letters written to friends or family members.
Topics can include:

  • Congratulating someone
  • Telling about an event
  • Sharing experiences

Format of an Informal Letter:

Salutation (e.g., Dear Friend / Dear Uncle)

Body of the Letter:
→ Opening (greeting, how are you, etc.)
